Psychosocial Support Training for Teachers in Maluku

#GempaAmbon - Supported by Start Fund, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) through the Maluku Earthquake Emergency Response team is now doing more activities in psychosocial support. Collaborates with the government of Central Maluku Regency, LPMP (Lembaga Penjamin Mutu Pendidikan) and Education and Culture District Office, WVI gives the psychosocial support training cash and voucher assistance for elementary school teachers in Central Maluku.
Training has been conducting for 249 participants who have several work backgrounds such as teachers, caregivers, and volunteers. All participants who had been trained would retrain other Elementary School teachers about the lessons.
The psychosocial support training cash and voucher assistance is also a campaign of Back to School (Gerakan Kembali Sekolah) to support the affected children be brave to back to school. Yohana, a principal of an elementary school in Central Maluku says she hopes to be able to implement the knowledge to her students, so as to reduce the impact of disasters.
“So that the Back to School campaign can be done together with teachers and students,” Yohana hopes.
Not only psychosocial support, but the participants also got knowledge about children’s rights, child protection and child-friendly spaces of WVI. This psychosocial support training is implemented in five villages of the Central Maluku Regency.
Through the funding of the Start Fund, WVI also distributes clean water in two villages: Negeri Waai village and Negeri Liang village.
