90,000 Masks from the Tahija Foundation for Health Workers in Indonesia

Through the COVID-19 pandemic emergency response (COPE) of Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI), the Tahija Foundation also contributes to the work of health workers in various areas of Indonesia. Some of the contributions from the Tahija Foundation include the distribution of KN95 masks, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), handwashing facilities with soap, information, education & communication media (IEC), and drink packages for health workers.

The Jatinegara sub-district health center in East Jakarta is one of the health facilities that received KN95 masks for health workers. In total, the puskesmas received 1,600 KN95 masks in May 2020. Anisa Rahayu, one of the health workers who represented the handover of aid, admitted that she is happy to receive masks and drink packages.

“Thank you to WVI and the Tahija Foundation for the KN95 masks. Hopefully the masks and drink packages can help us, the health workers, to carry out our duties and also increase the spirit of health workers in Jatinegara sub-district,” he said.

Apart from Jakarta, through WVI, the Tahija Foundation also distribute masks to health workers in Kupang, South Central Timor, Alor, Nagekeo, Ngada, Ende, Sikka, Southwest Sumba, Biak, Sentani, Jayawijaya, and Asmat. In total, around 90,000 KN95 masks are distributed to health workers in various areas so that they can carry out their duties safely.

In the health sector,  besides distributing masks to health workers, WVI also provides assistance through the Infant and Young Child Feeding program for affected children as well as socializing referrals for sick children. All of these efforts can run well because of the support from various parties including the government, institutions, sponsors, donors and other related parties.
