PT SPIL Supports People in Papua and West Sulawesi

PT Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines (SPIL), a shipping and logistic (ship log) service company, has been supporting Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) in reaching people in vulnerable areas since 2020. This action continues in 2021 and impacts, vulnerable people.

In January 2021, PT SPIL also helped to deliver 4 shelter kits, and 100 children kits for affected people of the West Sulawesi earthquake. The shipment was done from Jakarta to the port of Makassar. It brought packages containing blankets, swaddling and baby carriers, diapers, towels, and toiletries as well as 596 packages of refugee tents equipment which were very useful for the community.

PT SPIL's first support was in the delivery of the WVI operational car from Palu to Sorong. The car is used for community development services in Sorong, West Papua. The operational car is used by WVI staff to do work in assisted areas, especially in organizing health and education programs for the people in Sorong.
