Carisa: Be Careful or You'll Be Addicted!
Since the end of October 2021, flooding has hit Sintang Regency. Likewise, Carisa's village and house were not spared from flooding. However, this flood did not dampen Carisa (14)'s intention to participate in sex education training for teenagers held by the Melawi Sintang Program Area of Wahana Visi Indonesia.
"My parents are very supportive of me participating in positive activities," said Carisa.
This also made Carisa excited to participate, let alone her training on sex education, an interesting topic for her.
Carisa is one of the children who is actively involved in children's forums in the sub-district. In September, Carisa and the organizers of a children's forum conducted a study of married teenagers. One of the causes of such marriages is the lack of knowledge about sex so that many teenage children get pregnant and get married.
“This training was good and fun, it increased my understanding of sex and teenage marriage… I know better how to take care of my body, know about sex, free sex, making love, and the dangers of bullying after participating in the training,” said the eldest of two siblings.
Carisa admitted that she had experienced bullying. However, due to revenge he also eventually became the perpetrator. After learning about the impact of bullying, Carisa was determined not to do the same thing to her friends.
After participating in this training, Carisa and four of her friends shared the knowledge gained during the training with friends in the church. They explain about sex, the dangers of sex, the dangers of having sex, and the dangers of watching porn. Carisa has also dared to reprimand her friend who likes watching porn videos.
During the session, Carisa and her group friends got a part to deliver material on sexually transmitted infections. According to the group, this infection can occur due to sodomy, free sex, lack of maintaining the cleanliness of intimate organs, and oral sex. Carisa also understands that apart from pornography, casual sex can also lead to addiction. In addition to addiction, free sex can cause dangerous and even deadly diseases.
"Be careful or you'll get addicted!" she said at the time.
Carisa is committed not to joining the wrong friendship. She also hopes that many young people will stop watching porn videos, don't have free sex, and can take care of their bodies.
