Celebrating National Children's Day with Dancing

National Children's Day (HAN) is celebrated on July 23 every year. On every date, children throughout Kubu Raya Regency always gather in the Regent's Office Hall to take part in the HAN celebration. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has made a different story in this HAN celebration.

The HAN 2021 celebration was successfully carried out directly and in a limited manner. With the theme Improving Children's Creativity so that Children are Protected, WVI coordinates with village children's forums for cadres to create a movement and dance competition for Indonesian children's songs.

This competition was participated by twelve groups, where each group consisted of six dancers. Each group can perform in turns according to the schedule.

Inayatul (10) and his friends participated in the competition. He was happy because he could meet his friends.

“I like to participate in dancing competitions. We have been practicing for one week,” said Inayatul.

The event that started in the morning was over. Unexpectedly, the Inayatul dance group also won the competition.

''I'm happy to win and get prizes,'' he said happily.

HAN celebration activities in the village have become a means for children to return to their activities and show creativity after a long time there have been no media to create because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
