Family Photo Contest Resulted in Winning
To bring the relationship between families closer, Wahana Visi Indonesia in the Sipado Program Area held a family photo competition as well as a socialization event for the “Stop Child Marriage” campaign in one of the villages in the WVI service area. Ibnu, a representative of WVI children was one of those who joined the event.
“In my family, there are Dad, Mom, me, and my younger sister. I'm happy that Mama and Papa are still trying to meet our needs, for food, drink, and school. I am happy and proud to have caring parents. However, when my friends and I discussed with my sister from WVI and discussed family photos, I remembered that at my house there were no photos of Papa, Mama, and Adik. I am very excited when there will be a photo competition plan with my family,” said Ibnu (11) telling the story of his early participation in the competition.
Before the photo contest with the family was held, the children were asked to make their photo frames made of items or materials that were around them, so that they could be creative according to their wishes.
The photo assessment will be assessed in terms of family completeness, photo frame creations, and cohesiveness. This activity received high enthusiasm from the community because they rarely have family photos at home.
“During the activity, I was worried because Papa had to work and didn't come until the afternoon. At first, we took pictures with Mama and Adik Iyas (F/5) because Papa had not come yet. Luckily, Papa came at 3 pm and WVI's brother still allowed us to take pictures together. I'm very happy, finally, you can have a complete family photo and if you tell me about the warmth of a family, I can at the same time show the proof with a photo of us as a family. This is my family, where is yours? Thank you Wahana Visi, continue to attend and carry out activities in our village,” said Ibnu ending his testimony while holding up his family photo.
Ibn's enthusiasm and prayers paid off. Based on the assessment of the jury, Ibnu and his family won 1st place in the Family Photo Contest. In addition to getting a family photo, Ibnu also received a competition prize.
