First Green School Library for Adil and Friends

First Green School Library for Adil and Friends

Adil (10), a child from Sambas Regency, is currently in grade 5 of elementary school. Since he was a little child, Adil loved to read fairy tales and animal stories. Before being good at reading, Adil always asked his mother and father to read stories about animals.

"I like reading books about the animal story of Si Kancil," said Adil excitedly.

When he was in grade 4, Adil and his friends often visited the school library to borrow their favorite storybooks. Previously, the school library building was very simple. It was at the teacher's official residence. The building is also fairly ancient and made of wooden planks. Adil often dreams that his school can have a better library with lots of storybooks.

Unexpectedly, Adil's dream comes true.

With the support of HSBC Indonesia, Adil and 237 other students finally have a new library building, namely The Green School Library. The building is child-friendly. The library was inaugurated by the Regent of Sambas, H. Atbah Romin Suhaili, Lc. MH.

"We express our gratitude to Wahana Visi Indonesia that cares for Sambas Regency. We are proud that Wahana Visi Indonesia is present in the district. Sambas provides spaces for fun, shade, education, and education for the community. With the presence of libraries in schools, our children will become literate towards books, science, and technology," said Atbah, the Regent of Sambas' nickname, in his remarks that day at the inauguration of the library.

Ignatius Anggoro, the Sambas Program Area Manager said that the framework for this program is to support a Child-Friendly District.

"The construction of the first Green School Library in Sambas Regency will contribute to the availability of appropriate information facilities for children in the village, as well as support indicators of Child-Friendly Schools," said Anggoro.

Now, Adil already has a new great library. He was getting excited to read.

"I am glad to find a new library. My friends and I will be more excited to come and read books to the library,” said Adil with a happy face.
