Kinan's Spirit in Fighting Limitations

Kinan's Spirit in Fighting Limitations

Kinan, a child representative of Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) in the Sipado Area Program is very happy to gather and play with her friends. Kinan attends the schools for special needs near her house and she is always enthusiastic in carrying out her activities inside and outside the home.

Kinan, a child with a physical disability is one of the thousands of children who are very enthusiastic about participating in children's learning activities (KBA) conducted by WVI. Every month, Kinan always participates in KBA with social volunteers.

Reaching KBA sites is not easy. Kinan was carried by her mother as far as 2 kilometers from the house to the KBA implementation site. When they arrive, Kinan usually immediately hangs out with her friends.

During the KBA implementation, Kinan rarely missed the opportunity to meet with friends around the neighborhood. Kinan's friends at the KBA are very happy to meet Kinan and have understood Kinan's condition. Once in a while, they helped Kinan when she was having trouble while at the KBA.

The things that Kinan liked the most during the KBA implementation were coloring and playing activities. Kinan looked very enthusiastic and laughed out loud when the facilitator brought various games.

This month, Kinan met an Inspirational Figure who works as a nurse at a hospital. Kinan looks very impressed and happy to meet a nurse who explains how health workers work in hospitals.

After listening to fairy tales, coloring, and getting acquainted with Inspirational Figures, it didn't feel like it was already 5 pm. It's time for Kinan and her mother to go home to get ready to perform the maghrib prayer and gather with her father who will come home from work.

KBA which Kinan participated in is a form of WVI activity that is held every month for assisted children in the Palu, Sigi, and Donggala areas. In addition to participating in KBA, occasionally Kinan receives letters and some assistance from sponsors. One of the assistances that Kinan received was some cash.

Fatnur, the mother of Kinan, admitted that the assistance from WVI was very beneficial for Kinan and her family. With this assistance, they were able to buy daily necessities and school supplies for Kinan.
