Maintaining Family Cohesiveness in the Middle of a Pandemic

#ParentingWithLove - It is not easy to carry out daily activities during the Covid-19 pandemic like today. However, with the support of family and the closest people, boredom certainly does not come easily. This happened to Lukman Sardi, an Indonesian actor. The cohesiveness of the family has made this father of three children enjoy everyday life during a pandemic.

Daily activities with their three children made Lukman and his wife, Pricillia Pullunggono, able to enjoy the pandemic conditions even though they had to stay at home. Despite undergoing various habit changes, both of them feel the bond between family members is getting stronger.

“There are many new things that we have to adjust as parents. Even though usually only prepare breakfast, prepare meals, and uniform. It's really a new routine that we have,” said Pricillia.

For her, caring for the three boys, Akiva (10), Akira (8), and Akino (6.5) is indeed not easy. However, the collaboration between Lukman and Pricillia can create a warm parent-child relationship.

"We are indeed close to the children, but during the new normal, our bonding is getting stronger and we know the children's development more quickly," Lukman said.

For Lukman, forming children is part of the duties of parents. Children are how their parents set the habits in their life. Regulating does not mean authoritarian, but explains things logically and nicely in order to be accepted by children. Even so, open communication between parents and children will make the relationship even closer.

In addition, Lukman added, the family foundation that husband and wife create is the key to parenting at home. The cohesiveness of children and parents can be created if the father and mother at home already have one vision in educating their children.

"What kind of children do you want to educate? If it's different, we find the middle point. That will make the family in line," he explained.

Family cohesiveness does not only have to be carried out during a pandemic. However, also in the post-pandemic period. According to Lukman, the process of creating cohesiveness is a process that must be followed by every family. Even if you don't know when the end is, the process should never be bored to be carried out by every family member.
