Rapid Movement of Head Community

#BersamaMelawanCovid19 - Humanitarian movements that contribute to the common interest are indispensable to the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. One small thing we can do is to follow the advice of the government or contribute through our respective professions. Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) Jakarta Area Program, helped the Jakarta government to provide support to the community in fighting the spread of the Coronavirus through the provision of Handwashing with Soap (CTPS) facilities.

Afrizal, a resident of Cipinang Besar Utara Village was involved in this joint action with WVI. As a head community of RW 07, Afrizal invited the residents and community leaders in Gang Mayong to work together to help WVI in building CTPS facilities.

Thanks to this cooperation, residents immediately moved to connect the water pipes to the tank that had been provided by taking clean water from the house of one of the residents in the nearest location.

The RT 13 head community also contributed in giving money to the house owner for additional water and electricity costs and used community cash to replenish the availability of soap, so that the community could directly use the installed CTPS facilities.

"We do it by way of socializing through the RT and around the area in the neighborhood of citizens about PSBB. In addition, providing a handwashing reservoir with WVI whose water needs are supplied by residents and local RTs helps provide additional payment for utility bills," Afrizal explained.

Not only in Gang Mayong but Afrizal also immediately ordered residents to buy a water pipe so that the CTPS facility in front of the Al Mutaqim Mosque could be used directly by local residents.

"Wahana Visi has helped to provide 2 units of handwashing reservoirs. We would like to thank WVI for helping with the washing hands for RW 07 CBU residents and we will take care of the handwashing reservoir, " he said.
