Shoes for Biak’s Children

Shoes become very important equipment for a student. Besides being footwear that protects feet from sharp objects and dirt, shoes also indirectly give more encouragement to children to learn at school. The current condition is that there are still many children in Biak Regency, Papua who do not wear shoes while at school.

Gratefully, Langkah Kasih foundation comes to bring hope to children in Biak. Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) The Biak Program Area facilitates the Langkah Kasih foundation to provide shoes for students in 3 PAUD and 3 elementary schools in Biak. WVI helps the selection process of criteria for children who are beneficiaries and also the process of socialization and preparation together with school representatives and parents.

Not long after the student data retrieval is done, finally the shoes awaited came too. Expectations are now real and bring smiles to children who receive benefits. A total of 459 pairs of shoes were received and distributed to PAUD and elementary school students in Biak.

Not only for students and parents, but this good initiative from the Love Steps also brings joy to school administrators.

"I express my deepest gratitude to Wahana Visi Indonesia and Langkah Kasih foundation for the assistance in the form of distribution of school shoes for our students. Thank you," said Yulianan Paramarsyom, Principal of the Soukobye Korem Elementary School.
