Children's Story: Active in Activities, Wanti Feels Change

Being active in participating in the various activities of Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) in the Melawi Sintang Area Program is what Wanti (12) likes. Wanti is a child from the Sintang Regency who has been involved with WVI activities since childhood. Even though many children her age are reluctant to get involved in activities again, Wanti remains faithful to participate in various fun activities with WVI.

Wanti has received much knowledge for her future, including her ability to speak in public. Wanti is also active in cultural arts activities, where she belongs to a dance group in her village. Not infrequently this dance studio also participated in dance competitions organized by the community in their village and became champions.

"Activity with WVI makes me more confident, and I also find what my hobby is," she said.

She gets support from her parents. Wanti's parents support her daily activities, both during religious activities and with WVI. Both of Wanti's parents were even actively involved in several activities with WVI.

With this support, Wanti grew into a child who took the initiative and was wise, including in managing her time. Even though in the morning Wanti helps prepare groceries for her parents to sell, Wanti can still study and help her mother in cleaning the house.

Wanti is happy to be able to gain new knowledge, especially during a pandemic. She gets various materials about dental health, also how to process waste and other materials that can be provisions for her future life.
