The Clean Water Network accelerates health improvements for children, families and communities in Landak, West Kalimantan.

Access to clean water is crucial for public health and well-being. According to data from the West Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released in 2023, Landak Regency ranks among the top five out of 14 regencies in terms of the percentage of households with access to clean water, at 70% each. This situation is particularly prevalent in low-income and rural areas, with limited infrastructure and resources to access basic necessities. This situation poses significant health risks, including waterborne diseases such as diarrhea and cholera, which affect children and vulnerable populations.

Furthermore, several studies have shown a strong correlation between susceptibility to waterborne diseases and the increasing number of children experiencing underweight and stunting.
