Maria J Adrijanti Ekaratni

The work ethic and work environment that continues to be built at WVI makes all staff do what is said. Work in the office and field to meet the community is balanced, so it does not make you bored at work. By working at WVI, staff can have the opportunity to explore Indonesia where WVI works and get to know the diverse cultures of Indonesian people. The opportunity to meet people from various groups and backgrounds like that, indirectly 'enriching' me spiritually.

Solfriamus Dasman

I faced many challenges while working in the middle of Papuan society. I have experienced acute malaria and even was rejected by the community. But as difficult as anything, I want to be useful for the children and the community that I serve.

I have had many opportunities to learn and grow in this organization. I feel glad because this organization has many types of long-term projects and disaster response projects and programs. By working as a humanitarian worker, I can live directly with the community and open my mindset to the fullest. I see that the people themselves that understand best how to improve their quality of life.

I am acquainted with many 'cool artists' here. They are people who do not want to give up on the situation and try to prove that their struggle will produce the best results for their children in the future. Their story has encouraged me to continue applying my knowledge, continue to learn, be grateful, and be proud of God who has given me the opportunity to serve in East Sumba.

Franky Febriyanto

Living in a big city since childhood and having to work with people in remote villages is not easy and requires struggle. But I enjoyed it because this is called the school of life. I learned many things from the community and children about the meaning of simplicity and struggle. If young people in Indonesia only want to work and serve in big cities, when will the villages develop?
