Wahana Visi Indonesia supports global efforts to reduce the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities. Since 2010, WVI has been assisting vulnerable communities in Indonesia in building their resilience to climate change as well as mitigating, coping with, and recovering from the immediate effects of climate-related disasters. Our climate change programming is child-focused, inclusive, transparent and accountable, supports women's economic and social empowerment, and helps to protect and restore environmental assets that support vulnerable communities' livelihoods and food security while mitigating climate change.
WVI uses four main approaches to help vulnerable communities in Indonesia become more resilient to the effects of climate change, which are:
1) Nature-based Solution: Restoring the natural environment through promoting Farmers Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR).
2) Community-based Disaster Risk Management: Reduce climate risks and respond to disasters through partnering with the most vulnerable people.
3) Green School: Fostering greater children participation in building climate resilient communities.
4) Partnering and Collaboration: Leveraging partnerships to strengthen capacity and increase impacts.
Let us move together to reduce the impact of climate change and create greener earth for community and children's better future.
