Collaboration for Waste Awareness in DKI Jakarta

The DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency in collaboration with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) and Divers Clean Action (DCA) held the DKI Jakarta Waste Collaborator Multi Stakeholders Forum, Thursday (30/6). This activity brings together all collaborators who have been contributing to waste management in DKI Jakarta.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that this meeting was held so that in the future there can be more synergy with various stakeholders in waste management in DKI Jakarta.

"So that we can synergize in programs between the Environmental Service, aggregators, and collaborators," said Asep.

Asep said that the Environment Agency is open to people who have not become collaborators to participate in solving environmental issues in DKI Jakarta.

"We invite all levels of society to work together so that people can play an active role in building the city of Jakarta," said Asep.

Asep said that collaborators are expected to carry out planning, execution, and evaluation.

"Why do you need an evaluation? Because from the evaluation we will know the achievement of the targets we have done and in the future where we want to go and what else we have to do, "said Asep.

At this meeting, the collaborators formed a discussion group to discuss the 2023 program and exchange best practice ideas in waste management in DKI Jakarta.

Dadi Mulyadi representing the Filantra Foundation revealed that the program will be run after holding a discussion forum with other collaborators.

“We will provide direct assistance with the community and all collaborators to see how the conditions in the field regarding the existing waste problem are so that we can find out the existing deficiencies and can cover these deficiencies by working together. Then we also really want that there will be awards given to collaborators who have dedicated themselves to helping solve the waste problem in DKI Jakarta, "said Dadi.

In addition, Ernest Christian from Rekosistem also conveyed his proposal to hold a meeting again and discuss the problem of more narrow waste.

“Perhaps the proposal that we can convey is that a meeting will soon be held again to discuss more segmented issues. Like how to handle organic waste with Maggot BSF. So that later this will be more focused," said Ernest representing the discussion group.

Meanwhile, the Director of Tunasmuda Care (T.Care), Firmansyah expressed his commitment as an aggregator of the Large-Scale Social Collaboration for Waste (KSBB Persmpahan) to expand collaboration with various stakeholders in Jakarta's waste management.

"We will continue to build the spirit of collaboration in the success of Jakarta Awareness of Waste through the T.Care, Natakota program," he said.

The collaborators who participated in the Waste Collaborator Stakeholders Forum included Wahana Visi Indonesia, DCA, Filantra, Rumah Zakat, T.Care, WWF, Askrindo Syariah, Paljaya, Marine Buddies Jakarta, ACT, Bank BNI, Bank DKI, Pertamina Lubricants, Eco Enzyme Nusantara, Unilever, Rekosistem, PT Komatsu Indonesia, Pertamina MOR III, PLN, AHM and Pole Social House, Danone.
