We Feel Safe on Duty with PPE

#BersamaMelawanCovid19 – Medical personnel is still struggling to help the community in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic that is happening in this country, including midwives who are also still serving prospective mothers to give birth. Evita, a midwife is one of them. Despite being vulnerable to the potential spread of the Coronavirus, Evita continues to carry out her noble work with all her heart.

Evita is one of the many health workers in the puskesmas (public health center) assisted by Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) in the Palu area through the iREACH project. The midwife from Mamboro Puskesmas also dedicated her life as a midwife at the village health post and a mental health program holder.

"Childbirth during the pandemic remains, as usual, it's just that there are fears because at the time of delivery many families of patients who come, causing a crowd at the place of delivery. But we are still passionate about helping patients," Evita explained.

According to Evita, despite doing routine work, she and her team continued to carry out joint security procedures, namely limiting the families of patients who came. Evita was also helped by the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) from WVI.

"With PPE, we can use it when helping mothers give birth, so we feel safe in carrying out our duties," he said happily.

Through the iREACH program, WVI still supports the government and people of Palu through providing PPE and handwashing facilities with soap to several puskesmas through the Palu City Health Office.
