7,500 Families in DKI Jakarta Received Economic Support from Mastercard

#BersamaMelawanCovid19 - 7,500 families (35,000 people) in four districts in North Jakarta and East Jakarta receive cash and voucher programming in the form of e-vouchers that could be used to meet the needs of food. This support is a part of the attention of Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI), supported by Mastercard, to the people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the capital city of Jakarta.

Evelina Simanjuntak as the WVI Child Protection Coordinator in the Jakarta Area Program said that the assistance was provided based on several conditions such as families of WVI assisted children, families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, families with toddlers, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, elderly people, or with special needs and were not government worker. Each family received Rp613,800 which was distributed gradually.

"In Jakarta, our target is 7,500 families. Today, the first phase of Rp300,000 is distributed to 2,545 households in North Jakarta," Evelina said.

This program is also supported by the Duithape as an application provider. Through the Duithape application, beneficiaries can buy raw foods at selected vendor stalls. Every family is allowed to spend their money in the form of rice, sago, corn, vegetables, fruit, chicken, beef, fish, beans, tempeh, tofu, and eggs.

Susi Aprianti, a resident from Kelurahan Kamal Muara who received the assistance showed her happiness.

"Thank you for your help. This support is very useful for us as mothers, especially in times like this," said Susi.

Just like Susi, Hethy Suherti and Pratiwi from Kelurahan Pademangan Barat claimed they were happy to get material support. Said one of them, "I am very happy to get assistance from Mastercard and Wahana Visi Indonesia."
