KPMG Helps Create Child Friendly Environment in Jakarta

Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) works with a professional service company KPMG to do a volunteer activity in two area in Jakarta. The activity that is aimed at creating child friendly environment are conducted in July 2017.

The volunteer activity of the KPMG staff is the second activity, after in 2009 the company did the similar activity. Village heads, neighborhood heads, staff of Community Health Center, teacher of Early Childhood Care for Development (PAUD), integrated health post cadres, and community people from Penjaringan and Jatinegara, where the activities take place, enthusiastically support the initiative raised by the KPMG staff.

Through the activities, volunteers paint garbage cans, flower vases, paint wall, purchase supporting facilities for PAUD activities, and play together with children. The supporting facilities such as fan, bookshelf, carpet, and dispensers are handed out to PAUD in RW 01 neighborhood in Rawabunga, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

Staff of KPMG and WVI along with all the community people happily do the volunteer activity. The communication and interaction between the volunteer and community people are connected well. Because of the limited time, the unfinished painting activity is continued in the following day by community people.

Mrs. Agustina, Rawabunga village head expresses her thank to KPMG for doing the useful activity for her people. “Thank you to KPMG that has contributed to the creation of child friendly environment. Hopefully, community people can maintain the facilities well,” says Mrs. Agustina.

Mr. Adrianus, staff of KPMG is also grateful for the opportunity to do volunteer activity. “We all enjoy to do activity together with community people here. We hope, WVI keep arranging such activities because it is useful for community people,” says Mr. Adrianus.

Hopefully the partnership between KPMG and WVI can be replicated in other area, so that there are more children enjoy child friendly environment.
