Launching Perahu Pustaka Anak - Sentani District – Papua
Launching Perahu Pustaka Anak sponsored by 2 large companies namely PT. Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) and PT. Tetrasa Geosinindo was conducted on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Hobong village, Sentani Papua. Representative from PT SMI, Bpk. Hendriko Leonard Wiremmer, as CSR coordinator and Bpk Muhammad Mulyadi as CSR Specialist, attended the event. In addition, there were also 2 representatives from Geosinindo namely Bpk. David Saputra as Marketing Manager and Ibu Lusiyanti, Marketing Supervisor. The launch event of the Perahu Pustaka Anak was combined with the celebration of National Children's Day 2017 which was attended also by some representatives of local government of Sentani including Bpk Drs. Yerry Ferdinand Dien as the Regional Secretary of Jayapura. Towards Hobong village, invited guests using boats from the Yellow Bridge for 5-10 minutes. Arriving at the village, the guests were greeted with a traditional dance from Homfolo children's study group.
The event started at 10.00 WIT, beginning with the performance of the children assisted by Wahana Visi Indonesia. Furthermore, a speech from representatives of the invited guests, whether it is from Wahana Visi Indonesia, donors, head of the village and the last secretary of the local government of Papua. On that occasion, the representatives of the children's forums gave the flowers and "noken" flowers to Bpk. Yerry Ferdinan Dien - representatives of the Papua Government, SMI, Geosinindo and Wahana Visi Indonesia as a mark of respect.
The launch of Perahu Pustaka Anak was marked with ribbon cutting on each boat by Bpk. Sekda and accompanied by donor representatives and Wahana Visi Indonesia
After the launch event is complete, then the donors' representatives follow activities with the children, which has been prepared by the representative of Wahana Visi Indonesia in Sentani district. The group is divided into two teams, where representatives from PT. Tetrasa Geosinindo going to Homfolo village, while representatives from PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur going to Yoboi village. These two villages were became the target areas visited by Perahu Pustaka Anak at regularly. The children are so enthusiastic to follow the activities of singing, drawing and art of origami paper assembling conducted by PT. Geosinindo.
While in Kampung Yoboi children sing together and read reading books on Perahu Pustaka. The activity ended at 16.00 WIT. The entourage then returned across to the Yellow Bridge to the next to the hotel to rest. The utilization of these two boats will be optimized in 4 villages in Sentani (Kampung Yoboi, Ifale, Hobong, and Yobeh) and later expanded into two other districts, East Sentani (Kampung Ayapo and Asei Besar) , and Ebungfauw (Abar village, Khameyaka, Putali, Babrongko, and Homfolo Ayapo village). "This library boats are made to be used by as many as 709 children in 3 districts. Later the boat will continue to serve all the villages with the same schedule every week, making it easier for children to remember the arrival schedule of library boats in their respective villages, "said Charles Sinaga, Manager of WVI Zonal Papua. "One of the biggest issues in Kabupaten Jayapura is the low literacy rate. This support may be an appropriate and effective contribution that can educate children in Jayapura District, especially Sentani area, "said Hendriko Leonard Wiremmer, CSR Coordinator of PT SMI. Hopefully, this visit inspires both companies to continue to support the education of children in Papua
