Miss Indonesia Agni Pratistha Visits Integrated Service Post

A busy celebrity like Agni Pratistha still have time to pay attention on Indonesian children. Miss Indonesia 2006 shows this when she visits some integrated service posts (posyandu) that are accompanied by Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) in October 2017.

Besides visiting the posyandus in Jakarta, Pontianak, and Surabaya, Agni becomes speaker in a talk show in title “Strengthening Posyandu Cader” attended by tens of posyandu cadres from Simolawang and Sidodadi Villages, Simokerto Sub District in Surabaya.

In the talk show, Agni motivates posyandu caders to serve well the posyandu attendants. Meanwhile, when she visits posyandu Agni motivates mothers of under five children to routinely visit posyandu activities, because the mothers can monitor their children growth, get counselling, and get vaccine in the posyandu activities. Agni says that she also brings her children to posyandu, although she has brought her children to visit pediatrician routinely.

In the posyandu in Cilincing, North Jakarta, Agni helps weigh babies, helps cadres use mposyandu application, and gives quiz to mothers attending the posyandu activities. Meanwhile in posyandu in Pontianak, she shares her experience in breastfeed her babies. She shares that she experienced difficulty, but she struggled so she was successful in providing the best feeding for her babies.

The talkshow in Surabaya city is the last activity of all Pos Pintar (Smart Post) Project activities in the last three years. Pos Pintar is the project run by WVI and HSBC since 2015. The project that is aimed at strengthening the service of posyandu using mposyandu application is run in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Pontianak.

The mposyandu application can be downloaded in smart phone. Besides helping posyandu cadres monitor children growth, mposyandu application is very useful for a posyandu cadre to counsel mothers of babies and under five children in providing correct nutrition.

Although Pos Pintar Program will close in the coming months, hopefully mothers remain enthusiastic to visit posyandu activities.
