Prudential Supports School Renovation and Library Development in Sentani, Papua
Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI), Prudential Life Assurance (PLA), and Jayapura local government in Papua province inaugurate the renovation of SD YPK Ifar Babrongko elementary school project on 28 August 2017 and start the development of library in SD Inpres Komba elementary school project on 29 August 2017. The two projects take place in Sentani, capital of Jayapura District.
It is expected that this activity will increase the knowledge and awareness of all parties, especially the PLA’s employees and agents, about the programs in the two locations. The Child Friendly School Project is a partnership between WVI and PLA to improve the quality of education in the two schools.
The event are attended by representatives of WVI, PLA, and Jayapura local government. WVI are represented by Mr. Doseba T. Sinay, CEO & National Director, Mr. Sumarsono and Mr. Hadi as WVI’s Board of Trustees. PLA are represented by Mr. Rinaldi Mudahar, Country CEO & Chief Executive Agency and Mrs Nini Sumohandoyo, Corporate Marketing, Communications & Sharia Director, as well as about 60 PLA agents from various regions both from Papua and outside Papua.
A visit to the Jayapura District Office initiates the series of all the activities. In the visit, Mr. Doseba T. Sinay and Mrs. Nini Sumohandoyo express support to the Jayapura toward Child Friendly District program through Child Friendly Village program, as always stated by Jayapura District Head, Mr. Mathius Awoitauw.
After the visit, the activities continue in SD YPK Ifar Babrongko elementary school. In the school, WVI staff as well as PLA staff and agents decorate class and school yard, paint the school fence, draw the wall and flower vase. In the following day in SD Inpres Komba elementary school, the volunteers work hard by moving stones, sift sand, and mix the sand and cement.
Community people and school children happily welcome the entourage from WVI, PLA, and Jayapura District by draping flowers on the neck of the special guests. Novi Pararem, a teacher of SD Inpres Komba elementary school, representing her school expresses gratitude to WVI and PLA for supporting her school.
