RISE Project - Sumba Barat Daya , NTT

Wahana Visi Indonesia and  William & Lily Foundation (WLF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the “Rural Integrated Sector Empowerment (RISE)" project which is implementing in Sumba Barat Daya – NTT. The signing was done on Tuesday 7 February 2017 at Wahana Visi Indonesia’s office  - Central Jakarta.

RISE Project is a compilation of good practices in community development approaches developed by WVI based on a long experience and learning with the community. It is an integrated project between health sector and economy development sector with a purpose to empower community local resources by improving quality health services of under five malnourished children and increasing the farmers’ yields through capacity building program. In its implementation, this project will promote and strengthen the stakeholders’ role (such as government, civil society and private sector) to work together towards the best interest of the children; the community comprises parents and care givers, community leaders, health workers, volunteers, Churches and economic groups. In the long run, this project aims to improve quality life of children through establishment of Post Health Unit (Posyandu) for community health promoting programCommunity Health Centre (Puskesmas) for health treatment and referral systemNutrition Post (Pos Gizi) for sustaining community nutrition resources, and Farmer capacity building program through community groups for family income development.

RISE project will be implemented in two year with the total target of beneficiaries impacted from the project is 1,490 people from 5 selected villages in Kodi district, with approximately 90 community health cadres to be trained and facilitated through 18 Posyandu, 18 Pos Gizi and 8 Kebun Gizi. The new project runs a month ago, and its hopes through this project, bringing people's lives change for the better.
