Thousands of Jakarta Families Officially Start Using Economic Support of Mastercard

#BersamaMelawanCovid19 - Direct assistance is increasingly becoming a solution for people affected by disasters, including during the Covid-19 pandemic. With the support of Mastercard, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) is in the process of distributing economic support to 7,500 families in four sub-districts of North Jakarta and East Jakarta. As of August 2020, 2,629 families have used this assistance.

Assistance is provided in the cash voucher programming form in the form of e-vouchers to meet the food needs of people.

Each household that has been registered will get the assistance of IDR 613,800. Furthermore, each household is allowed to spend assistance in the form of rice, sago, corn, vegetables, fruits, chicken, beef, fish, beans, tempeh, tofu, and eggs at the designated shop partners.

The distribution of aid, which began in June 2020, was carried out gradually. In the first phase, 2,545 families have followed the data collection process in the areas of Penjaringan, Kamal Muara, and Pademangan Barat villages. Furthermore, in the second phase, 2,643 families were recorded as having carried out the data collection process and spent the e-vouchers they had received. Residents in Kelurahan Cilincing, North Jakarta, Kelurahan Cipinang Besar Selatan, Cipinang Besar Utara, and Rawa Bunga in East Jakarta are those who were recorded in this second phase.

The aid distribution process is still being in progress until September 2020. The community data collection process in this program is also supported by the Duithape application provider.
