Voluntary Event - HSBC
HSBC has been supported mother and child health through Pos Pintar Project which are running since last year in 3 cities in Indonesia i.e Jakarta, Surabaya and Pontianak. This project is implementing technology by used mobile phones as a tool to collect, screen, and transmit child nutrition information and counsel caregivers on nutrition in Posyandu.
To increase the awareness on child growth and development issues , HSBC engage their staff to involve the volunteer activities in Posyandu. In year of 2016, six different volunteering event were held in Jakarta, Surabaya and Pontianak (twice of each city) involving 205 volunteers who did the make over of 4 posyandus and facilitate two training (IT and hydrophonic). HSBC staffs are very happy to participate in volunteer activities. They are not only as participants, but there is one of HSBC’s staff teaching cadres cultivating hydroponics plants in Posyandu.
HSBC's staffs also join as volunteer in Breastfeeding Campaign Event ( 74 people in Surabaya and 43 people in Pontianak). They distribute maternal and child health promotion material such as booklets, flyers to communities around the campaign site. In addition, they are also involved as a jury in various races.
In 2017, volunteer activities will be repeated in those 3 cities, and we expect more HSBC's staffs to be involved, so that more people are aware of the importance of maternal and child health.
