Food Aid for the Vulnerable

Food Aid for the Vulnerable

#BersamaMelawanCovid19 - Did you know that not all of the people in Indonesia have a population record which results in the marginalization of their right to get government assistance and attention, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, their lives are increasingly affected, especially in meeting basic household needs.

Wahana Visi Indonesia through the COPE (Covid-19 Pandemic Emergency Response) team helps these communities in the Kupang and Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS), NTT areas to get food assistance to meet their daily needs through the Cash Voucher Program in the form of vouchers. It is provided to vulnerable people, especially those who do not have a population record in this country.

The vouchers of IDR 523,000 for the TTS area and IDR 522,000 and IDR 590,000 for the Kupang area is still ongoing until the end of September 2020. The beneficiaries, who are mostly elderly, and people with disabilities, have the right to spend the vouchers in the grocery store that has collaborated with WVI. Beneficiaries can exchange vouchers for rice, eggs, and raw green beans. At least each family head can get more than 30 kilograms of rice and dozens of eggs so that they can be used as food.
