Venita is one of the many children in the Dolly brothel region who is fortunate to get to know Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI). She knew WVI in 2003. The various educational programs and children's activities that she participated in at the time, brought her to grow into an optimistic figure.
Venita does not come from an established family. She had had the family problems that made her difficult to get an education. The presence of free tutoring given by WVI back then gave an extraordinary influence on Venita's life.
"During tutoring (with WVI), we were given questions, and those who could answer would get a sticker. If there are a lot of stickers, then we can get a prize. It is very simple indeed, but it made an impression in my heart," said her.
Venita, who wanted to continue her education, was almost dishearted back then. Her desire to continue education to a higher level was almost dashed. However, her participation in the free tutoring given by WVI enabled her to dream again.
"When I was in elementary school, I initially only dreamed of being able to graduate, but instead got the highest score and was able to enter state junior high school ... From the results of lessons with WVI, I concluded that learning can be fun," she added.
For her, a brief meeting with WVI for 2 years was very lasting. The enthusiasm given by the WVI's staff at that time turned out to equip him even more to become a person who did not give up easily.
Also, Venita admitted that her family was greatly helped by various WVI programs such as the child sponsorship program and economic programs received by her sister and mother. According to her, through the WVI children's sponsorship program, her brother can help build his character and personality to be even better.
"Thank you, Wahana Visi Indonesia. At first, I thought I could only get free tutoring, but I could benefit from it. The optimism and enthusiasm that was channeled by the brothers in WVI shaped support for us. Thanks to WVI, my family also helped a lot," she concluded.
