HSBC Support for Building Resilient Community and Recovery of Indonesia's Economy

PT Bank HSBC Indonesia (HSBC Indonesia) has consistently strived to help the vulnerable communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic from the response to the recovery phase. During the response, HSBC Indonesia supported Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) to assist medical personnel and communities affected by the pandemic. HSBC’s support continues in this recovery phase. The contribution to the economic recovery in Indonesia is verified in the HSBC Sustainability online discussion “Building a Resilient Community” which was held on December 15, 2020.

HSBC Indonesia's contribution to economic recovery targets Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) actors and farmers considering that both of them are heavily affected by the crisis. The contributions given to MSMEs and farmers are in form of business training, mentoring and business monitoring, to capital assistance and business or agricultural insurance.

On this online opportunity, the President Director of PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, François de Maricourt again handed over assistance to the community through Rumah Zakat represented by Nur Efendi as CEO of Rumah Zakat and Wahana Visi Indonesia represented by Doseba T Sinay as CEO & National Director Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI). The Minister of Cooperatives & Micro Small Enterprise, Teten Masduki, and Deputy Chairman of the National Economic Recovery Task Force, Bambang Widianto also attend the event.

“It is important for us to build synergies between the government, community aggregators such as Wahana Visi Indonesia and Rumah Zakat as well as private sectors such as HSBC Indonesia. It will help MSMEs and farmers develop and contribute to building community resilience in this country,” said François de Maricourt, the President Director of PT Bank HSBC Indonesia.
