Supporting WVI, Darya-Varia Help The People Affected by Earthquake in West Sulawesi

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 hit Mamuju City, West Sulawesi on January 15, 2021 and had a wide impact on the communities in Mamuju and Majene, West Sulawesi. According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), 107 people died and 70,496 were displaced. Along with the partners, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) has also responded to this natural disaster by distributing emergency assistance to the affected residents and children. One of the partners is the pharmaceutical industry companies in Indonesia, PT Darya Varia Laboratoria Tbk.

Darya Varia, through WVI, in collaboration with the West Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, distributes medicines to health facilities that need it the most. Some of the drugs that have been distributed include 200 strips of Asmasolon (asthma medication), 100 bottles of Darya-Zinc syrup, 216 bottles of Biogesic Syrup (pain relieving paracetamol syrup), and 3,000 capsules of Supertin (multivitamin capsule).

Prior to supporting the earthquake response that occurred in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Darya Varia supported WVI’s programs by sending 250 boxes of vitamin supplements for pregnant women to Sekadau, West Kalimantan in March 2020. In addition, Darya Varia also sent 20 boxes of Obical and 10 boxes Obipluz vitamins for pregnant women to Melawi-Sintang in August 2020.
