We Can Not Work Alone

#GempaAmbon - Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) is contributing to helping affected people of the earthquake in Maluku trough the Maluku Earthquake Emergency Response team. One of them is to distribute medicines for people through Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) of Ambon City.

The medicines are the donation of APL (PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari – a member of Zuellig Pharma) through WVI to support people after the big earthquake happened in Maluku. The medicines contain of vitamin, fever, cough, flu, diarrhea medicines.

“This assistance is the main goal of our contribution to Indonesia, namely to make health access more accessible. This is part of our efforts to support the government's move to rebuild the city of Ambon and its surroundings after the earthquake through the Wahana Visi Indonesia Foundation," explained Christophe Piganiol, President Director of PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari.

These medicines are used by PMI Ambon City to help people get the best treatment. Through the "Health Services" activity held on 3 December 2019 in Ambon City, WVI and PMI provided an opportunity for everyone who wanted to get free health care and treatment from PMI.

Ambon City PMI Chair Edwin J. Patikawa expressed his appreciation for the work of WVI for the affected communities in Maluku.

"Without the help of Wahana Visi Indonesia, today we cannot do a free treatment. This is proof that we cannot work alone without the support of other parties," he said.

WVI continues to assist the community and government in Maluku until December 2019. Various other assistance such as providing psychosocial support and clean water distribution have been provided by WVI to earthquake-affected communities in Maluku.
