Hygiene Kit Assistance to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 in the Capital City
Through the Indonesia COVID-19 Emergency Response (ICOPE) project funded by the European Union, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) implemented several programs in the health and economic recovery sector as an effort to handle the COVID-19 pandemic in the DKI Jakarta province.
These efforts were carried out in 8 sub-districts in Jatinegara district – East Jakarta and 1 sub-district in Penjaringan district, North Jakarta, namely Penjaringan sub-district.
In preventing the spread of COVID-19, the health program also carried out a clean living campaign by providing assistance with hygiene kit packages to the community.
The packages given to the community are also very complete and are specifically intended for people who really need them.
When handling in the field, this becomes very risky for both staff and cadres and the Covid 19 task force at the neighborhood and community unit level because the packages will be distributed directly to family members who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.
In order to anticipate being exposed to COVID-19, the staff and cadres first coordinated with the COVID-19 task force regarding the exposed families to ask several related things.
The family of Fahmi and Mrs. Siti, who are residents, were one of the families who received assistance with the hygiene kit package.
They have been exposed to COVID-19 and have received treatment until they are cured. When providing assistance packages, WVI staff coordinates with the neighborhood unit level COVID-19 task force to ensure that the families are healthy when the hygiene kit assistance packages will be given.
Assistance is given to encourage the culture of clean living. Mrs. Siti is very grateful to WVI for providing assistance with hygiene kit packages and reminding them to live clean and continue following health protocols.
