Marsanda's New Activity

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed several things, both work, and school activities, as experienced by Marsanda and friends in the village. Has an opportunity to go to school is a fun thing for Marsanda because by going to school they can get better lessons. Marsanda also still can meet her friends and teachers, even though in a week they only come to school twice.

“I heard that there was a Coronavirus, and it make me confused. I still did not understand. Our school was temporarily closed, but one day we were asked to go to school. All the assignments and homework were sent by mobile phone. The difficulty comes when we have to find a place to get a signal to accept every assignment, and we do it every day. Sometimes, one day we go to the signal places twice,” said Marsanda, a student of first-grader of vocational high school.

That is how Marsanda's spent her daily life. Sometimes the routine makes her bored. Based on this situation, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) supports children in Marsanda's village by giving the learning materials tools that can encourage children to be creative in between school from home activity.

This material contains a snakes and ladders board game that mentions the Coronavirus information, how to prevent it, and its transmission. Colored paper and colored pencils are also part of this learning material tools.

Through this assistance, it is hoped that the children will not get bored quickly, but they can also get information about the Coronavirus in a fun and simple method.

"When we got a snakes and ladders board game, colorful paper, and crayons, we were happy, especially when we learned about the Coronavirus by playing. in this paper there were many pointers that had to be done, there were also ways to prevent Covid-19, in essence, there were lots of writings on the paper," Marsanda said.
